Thanks to everyone who came along to the Mercia Novice Open and well done to all our medallists and first-time competitor prize winners!
Foiled Again had competitors in 5 of the 6 weapons being fenced – all we needed was a woman foilist to complete the set. Well done to Archie and Daniel (men’s epee), Rowan (women’s epee), Paul (men’s foil), Charlie and Jack (men’s sabre), Amelia and Paula (women’s sabre) for representing our club. Everyone who fenced should be very proud of their performances, you all showed a lot of resilience when things weren’t going your way and against some very tough opponents. Well done in particular to our first-time competitors (Daniel, Jack, Paul and Rowan), as well as Charlie and Paula who both picked up bronze medals!
