Thanks to everyone who came along to the Mercia Novice Open and well done to all our medallists and first-time competitor prize winners!
Foiled Again had competitors in 3 of the 6 weapons being fenced. Well done to Charlie (men’s sabre), Eli (women’s foil and women’s sabre), Finlay (men’s epee), Jack and Ryan (men’s sabre) for representing our club. Everyone who fenced should be very proud of their performances, as despite the novice in the title, all weapons were tough competitions. Congratulations to Eli (gold in women’s foil, a very creditable 5th in women’s sabre directly afterwards), Ryan (gold in men’s sabre despite rolling his ankle in the semi), Charlie (bronze in men’s sabre) and Finlay (bronze in men’s epee in his first competition, only getting knocked out by the eventual winner).
